Yopping Update 35 - Dropping expectations

On the knitting front I am working on my Wingspan and I am on the fifth triangle.  It is good evening knitting as I listen to podcasts or netflix if the wifi is cooperating.

Mostly this week I have been playing with my drop spindle, and I think I am getting the hang of it.

Here is attempt number one:

which I am calling Pacifica Sunset:

Number two:
which is called San Francisco Mist

Number three:

myYukon fleece that is full of lanolin and much easier to spin on this drop spindle than my sipnning wheel.

I have these two ready to go - Agate Beach and Pacific Ocean:

Our truck is suppose to be fixed and ready to go on Tuesday - and then we will head....somewhere.

Yes, beside dropping my drop spindle I am also dropping expectations.  This holiday is unfolding as it wishes and I have a warm camper to sleep in, good food to eat, knitting and spinning to do, and a pool and hot tub at my disposal.  Also the views are amazing.

See you all next week.  I wonder where I will be then?

  1. So much yummy finer on and off the spindle, and I like how you're naming your colourways. You're creating your own souvenir yarn throughout your travels :). Very nice view!

  2. Good attitude towards your adventure.

Good job on the drop spindle. There is some very pretty fiber emerging

The wingspan shawl is really pretty. I like the colors you chose for it. Very comforting colorway.

  3. Your handspun yarns are just beautiful, Mary-Anne. And you have come up with perfect names for each one. Can't wait to see what you make with all of that loveliness.

  4. I currently only crochet but I want to learn to knit only because I'm in love with the Wingspan patterns! Yours' is coming along beautiful. What great colors to work with, Can't wait to see what you do with them! Vacation at your pace, no need to rush, just enjoy and we'll enjoy with you.

  5. Wow! What a trip! I sure hope that the truck will be repaired by tomorrow and won't cost an arm and a leg.

  6. I'm glad the truck will be fixed but I don't think I'd want to move too far from where you are.
